WindowsTM Server Simulation Software for
BACnetTM Systems
If you're a developer of facility automation systems or controls who is
developing BACnetTM communications software,
chances are you've had a hard time finding BACnet equipment from other vendors
to experiment with. If you've looked at the BACnet standard, you know that even
simple communications functions can present some daunting problems, and you
probably don't have the time to become that much of a BACnet expert. You need
a quick way to simulate other BACnet devices and focus on solving your
development problems. You need BACsimTM.
BACsimTM is the industry's first easy-to-use
BACnet device simulator for WindowsTM.
BACsim runs under Windows 98, Me, NT4, 2000 or XP, and provides a robust set of basic
simulator features tailored to the needs of BACnet designers.
BACsim provides a graphical user interface that resembles a simulation panel.
You can configure an object database within BACsim that can simulate standard
BACnet objects such as Analog Inputs, Analog Outputs, Binary Inputs and Binary
Outputs. Up to 8 simulated properties can be displayed as dynamic analog
meters or "LEDs" representing any property value. A total database of up
to 256 properties of arbitrary object identifiers and property identifiers
is supported. Each property value can be set statically, or automatically
ramped up and down between limits, simulating real activity. The first 8
property values can be adjusted manually through the "front panel".
You can view the object property database at any time to see the settings
for individual property values and their simulation parameters.
You can also view incoming and outgoing message traffic with a built-in
tracing feature that displays messages in hexadecimal form so you can
see the actual encoding.
