BACtrack is the industry's first comprehensive tool for tracking down interactions in a multi-vendor BACnet environment. BACtrack provides simultaneous monitoring of multiple networks and mixed LAN types. With an attractive and approachable User Interface, hosted under Windows 98, Me, NT4, 2000 or XP, BACtrack makes it easy to trace system interactions and see the big picture in any BACnet system. Extensive filtering options allow you to concentrate only on those specific BACnet messages of interest to you.

Once you set up the criteria for the BACnet messages you are interested in, BACtrack does the rest. Each incoming message is checked to see if it matches the criteria you have established. Matching messages may be displayed in their own scrollable window, as well as logged in a file. These displays show the content of each message in parts with easy to understand English descriptions. These traces can also be saved in a text file for offline examination. The text traces can also be loaded back into BACtrack later.

BACtrack will automatically locate and identify peer BACnet devices for you, even on multiple network segments. At a glance you can see the device's name, device instance, network number, MAC address and even the name of the vendor! You can save the peer list to a file for later use.

Powerful match criteria give you a lot of flexibility in qualifying exactly which messages you want to see. You can qualify messages based on source address (source network and MAC address), destination address (destination network and MAC address or Broadcast), source and destination vendor, and specific BACnet service. Any of these criteria can also be ALL.

Some BACnet services can be further qualified down to individual parameters. The WriteProperty and WritePropertyMultiple services, as well as the AddListElement and RemoveListElement services can be qualified according to the object type, object instance, and property identifier. You can use a specific object identifier, such as (analog-input, 3), or you can wildcard the type or instance, such as (analog-input,ALL), or (ALL,3). You can match specific property identifiers or ALL.
